Are Polin a thing in real life? Are we FINALLY getting an answer? Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan is once at last addressing rumors that she and co-star Luke Newton are an item.
Coughlan's Penelope Featherington and Newton's Colin Bridgerton had undeniable on-screen chemistry as we watched their love story unfold from the friend zone to marriage and a baby on the most recent season of Bridgerton, and it left fans wondering if it translated into real life — especially as they cozied up to each other on red carpets promoting the show.
In a recent interview with Time, Coughlan said of her relationship with Newton, "A lot of people really want me to marry Luke," adding, "We have this gorgeous friendship. We have such a love for one another and this experience that I’ll never have with someone else again. Isn’t it gorgeous that a man and woman can have that sort of relationship with one another?"
Elsewhere in the interview, she shared her experience filming Penelope and Colin's first sex scene, and teased a little bit of what's to come from Polin in Season 4. Nicola said, "It was intimate, but it was also scary because of the level of nudity. We wanted to do justice to the story and this beautiful moment where he makes her feel really loved and they’re vulnerable together. I’m so proud of that scene."
Time adds that "the duo have more intimate moments in Season 4 and will also have something else to manage: Polin’s 'crazy cute' onscreen baby."
