Instagram influencer and model Niece Waidhofer, 31, had deleted all of her Instagram posts before she committed suicide. Was found dead at home after a requested welfare check.
She was a very popular social media influencer and mental health advocate. The family of Niece Waidhofer confirmed the news after fans grew concerned when the model wiped her Instagram - which has 4.2 million followers - clean of all but three posts. “Sadly, Niece took her own life after a long battle with mental health issues,” the family said in a statement to TMZ. “She was very open with her followers about her struggles, even wanting to help followers who also suffered.”
The family has started a non-profit called Peace for Niece which will focus on mental health awareness and provide grants for mental illness research, according to the statement.
The model was found at her home in Houston, Texas, after a family member contacted law enforcement.
“Niece was more than her struggles,” the statement said.
“She was beautiful and kind, sensitive and funny, creative and talented, generous and compassionate, thoughtful and challenging.”
Last month, the model deleted all but three of her Instagram posts.
