Marvel Working On Top-Secret 'Thunderbolts' Movie

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has gotten underway on a top-secret movie project hinted at across multiple movies and Disney+ shows. They've hired director Jake Schreier and screenwriter Eric Pearson for Thunderbolts.

In the comics, the Thunderbolts are usually a team of supervillains working as heroes for some government entity. Kind of like the Suicide Squad, but with Marvel characters. They started out as Avengers villains masquerading as heroes for evil purposes, who then turned into good guys for real. The concept was introduced in the 90s and has been through numerous iterations over the years. The team is usually led or overseen by heroes like Hawkeye, Luke Cage, or Winter Soldier. Members have included Baron Zemo, Black Widow, U.S. Agent, Venom, Deadpool, Ghost, Punisher, Red Hulk, Electro, Taskmaster, Abomination, and many more.

MCU characters/actors rumored for this movie version include Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as the new Black Widow, Tim Roth as Abomination, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. It's all speculation at this point, but there are big hints in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Black Widow that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) has been working in the background, putting together a team that includes Black Widow and U.S. Agent.
