Parker McCollum credits Randy Travis as the reason for his favorite Christmas movie.
The “Burn It Down” country star reflected on some of his favorite holiday memories from his childhood, growing up in Conroe, Texas. McCollum remembered getting together with his family and playing football in his grandma’s front yard every Christmas morning, into his teen years. When he wasn’t playing football, the award-winning singer-songwriter — like many people — has favorite Christmas movies he watched throughout his life.
One of them, he admitted, might “sound kind of goofy,” but it’s because of a country music legend’s contribution to it.
“Favorite Christmas movie – this is gonna sound kind of goofy, but one of them is definitely Annabelle’s Wish, because Randy Travis narrates it,” he said, per his record label. “I used to watch that when I was really little with my mom, but I mean, Christmas Vacation is a phenomenal movie. And I always really liked the Santa Clause series with Tim Allen. I always thought those were really good, even the newer ones.”
Annabelle’s Wish released in the late 1990s. The animated holiday film also features Jerry Van Dyke, Jay Johnson, Jim Varney, Rue McClanahan, Cloris Leachman and others, in addition to the “Forever and Ever, Amen" legend.
