My birthday was back in January and my partner Jess told me she had ordered me some new Funk Pops, but they were backordered and were gonna be awhile. It's weird because I never really wanted to buy into the whole Funko Pop craze thing....when they first started coming around, I kinda thought they would be just another Beanie Babies fad. They seem like they're more popular than ever these days and I do like that there's a pop for almost EVERYTHING. I mean truly, if you're a fan of something - there's a Funk Pop for that. I have some friends that are die hard collectors and have whole ROOMS dedicated to these things....I'm too much of a minimalist to ever go that crazy, but I have managed to collect a few that I really like. Towards the end of last year there was a game that came out for the PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 called Spiderman: Miles Morales. It was a FANTASTIC game that was a follow up to the first Spiderman game that came out in 2018. Spiderman is probably my favorite Marvel character and superhero of all time and in these games - you can choose between all these really awesome suits that Spidey has worn all through the years. So of course they came out with some Funkos based on some of these suits....
For reference, these are the in-game suits these Funko Pops are based off....
A good chunk of my Saturday was spent raking a seemingly endless pile of leaves. After that freeze we had, it seems like almost everything died and my whole neighborhood has looked like Fall because all of the leaves on pretty much everything has fallen off. I was able to fill up almost four bags full of leaves when it was all done and there was still more left. I'm gonna try and put some Weed N Feed down this week since March is usually the month I try to fertilize everything before it gets blazing hot outside. But just look at this MESS I had to contend with (and this was just one side of my house...)
I've talked a lot on the show about how I try to eat pescatarian most of the time, but it's not because I dislike meat at all. In fact, one of my favorite foods is Italian sausage - I LOVE that stuff. Unfortunately for me, heart disease runs in my family so I've always tried to find meat alternatives and focus on vegetables. Jess is a huge carnivore though and I will still eat meat with her on occasion, but it's more of like a treat than anything. Eating more vegan is a little easier these days because there's SO many options out there, but you do have to do your research. Some stuff is downright disgusting and I can see why some people get turned off trying to go vegan, but if you're willing to do a little trial and error, you can actually find some really good stuff. Case in point here...I recently discovered this brand at HEB called Beyond Meat and it is hands down the best meat alternative I have ever had! The consistency is on point and the flavor is there. I got the sausage links, but their meatballs are great and so is their ground 'beef'. If you're trying to eat a little healthier and still wanna feel like you're eating meat - THIS is the brand you want
