Good things are happening at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!
I know what you're thinking...and yes, it was canceled...for most of us.
There are still some private, socially-distanced events happening like the Junior Livestock and Horse competitions.
While showing off their animals recently, the exhibitors were given a pretty sweet treat.
Cody Johnson showed up for a private performance!
I love Cody Johnson. He's a Huntsville native.
I became a fan back in 2017 when he was asked to fill-in for Old Dominion at RodeoHouston. Old Dominion had dropped out because of a death in the family. CoJo was asked to headline the show that night and he killed it! I never really knew much about him until that point, but I've been a fan ever since.
He would end up headlining again in 2018 and 2019. He was scheduled for 2020, but then the pandemic rolled in.
Well, he was back for these kids in 2021.
After his private performance, he surprised eight random exhibitors with autographed guitars.
What a cool moment that must have been for everyone.

By the way, he wasn't the only performer who stopped by. Aaron Watson performed a couple days earlier.
Kudos to everyone at the Rodeo and the musicians who made these performances happen.
I'm sure the kids and their families truly appreciated it.
