Just like we always do, the people of Houston have come together to help others.
Last week, Julio Martinez, his wife Sarah and his 4 year-old son Jace were relocating from California to Houston.
Julio made the long drive first, so that Jace and Sarah (who is 7 months pregnant) can just settle in.
But, during an overnight stay at an Airbnb, someone stole their car, their U-Haul and all their belongings.
You may have seen their story on the news...
That was heartbreaking to watch.
They were left with nothing, but Sarah was not discouraged.
She said, "...sometimes when you're headed in the right direction, some forces try to push back at you. But we just think God has our back no matter what."
A GoFundMe account was set up to help the Martinez family get back on their feet. The goal was $50,000.
A lot of Houstonians heard about what happened and wanted to help.
As I write this, that account is now at $57,679!
