The Astros home opener is Monday the 18th.
When you get to Minute Maid Park, you may notice some fans grabbing items and just walking out.
Don't worry, that's supposed to happen.
The concession stand will be powered by "Just Walk Out" technology from Amazon.
Here's a video of what it looks like at an airport in Dallas...
Minute Maid Park will be the first stadium in Major League Baseball to use this technology.
You can find these concesson stands at the 19th Hole (at section 156) and the Market (at section 211).
All you do is scan your credit card before you walk in, grab the snacks and souvenirs you want and walk out.
This might feel a little strange when you first use it.
Cameras will be looking to see the items you pick up, put back and leave with.
A receipt station should be nearby if you need one.
If you buy alcohol, you'll still have to show your ID.
Staff will be there to help you if you need it.
You can read more about this HERE.
I saw this at NRG Stadium when I went to the Marshmello concert during the rodeo.
I didn't use it, but it looked cool.
Hopefully this will help us beat the long lines so we can get back to the game.
Let me know if you've ever used one of these cashierless stands.
GO ASTROS!
