Here's What Jay Is Watching On TV This Week

I'm always looking for cool and interesting stuff to watch on TV.

Once the kids go to bed and it's time to relax, I just want to lose myself in a good show.

Here are some of the things I'm watching.

The Last Cruise (HBO Max)

That's a 40 minute documentary about the passengers and crew of the Diamond Princess. It takes place in January of 2020 as the pandemic was just beginning. The virus spreads through the cruise ship and everyone gets quarantined in their staterooms. Good documentary, but it ends abruptly. Maybe we'll get a part two at some point.

The Handmaid's Tale: Season 4 (Hulu)

This is actually one of my wife's favorite shows. Season 4 begins streaming today. I'm only mildly interested at this point. I feel like some of the characters have been making a lot of dumb decisions and it kind of takes me out of it. My wife is all in though! I'll watch it because I've already invested so much time in June's story.

Ted Lasso (Apple TV)

I got a free subscription to Apple TV when I bought a new iPhone. One of the shows you must watch is Ted Lasso. It's about a football coach who gets hired to coach a soccer team. This show is funny, heartwarming and dramatic all at once. I won't spoil anything, but it was one of our favorite shows ever. Each episode is only 30-ish minutes long and very well done. Season 2 comes out July 23rd.

Rush (Netflix)

A bit of an oldie, but a goodie. Back when Chris Hemsworth was somewhat new to Hollywood, he starred in Rush. It's a movie about the rivalry between race car drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda. It's fantastic. You don't even have to know anything about the sport of racing. Dana and I got to interview Chris when this came out. I'll see if I can find it.

What are your recommendations?
