Newborn Left At Fire Station In Crosby

In Crosby, Texas, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, an anonymous woman called 911 and stated she left a baby girl at the fire station located at 2500 US-90 in east Harris County.

Authorities were called Monday around 3:30 a.m. after firefighters found the baby at the front door. The newborn believed to be 2 hours old and was taken immediately to the hospital. It's stated the baby girl is doing okay and in good condition.

Deputies say the mother went the extra mile by calling 911. Lt. Christoper Bruce with the Harris County Sheriff's Office stated, "This fire station is not manned 24 hours a day, so she wanted to make sure the child was taken care of."

In situations like this, EMS stations, hospitals and fire stations are considered safe places. Any parent can take an infant 60 days or younger to any of the places listed and will not take any legal action.
