As the Houston Astros compete in the American League Championship, their partners are rooting them on off the field. The league of women behind the Astros are just as inspiring and motivating when they’re out of the stands. Let’s get to know the leading ladies behind some of Houston’s star players.

Kate Upton

The Michigan-born model has been in the industry since 2008, appearing in fashion editorials and advertisements for some of the popular brands around the globe. As a decorated model, she’s gained attention for being People magazine’s “Sexiest Woman” in 2014 and has graced the cover of prestigious magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair. Her budding acting career has landed her roles in movies like “Tower Heist,” “The Layover,” “The Disaster Artist,” and “The Other Woman.” Upton and Verlander married in 2017 and had their daughter, Genevieve, in 2018.

Amy Cole

Gerrit Cole isn’t the only pitcher in the family. Wife Amy Cole, formerly Crawford, was a softball pitcher for her college team, the UCLA Bruins. The couple met at the university and soon tied the knot at their luxurious destination wedding in Santa Barbara in 2016. Amy founded the food blog “A Coleinary Experience,” sharing her favorite delectable recipes and a peek at her travels.
