If you've been listening to the morning show, then you already know about my air conditioner woes.
It's been a long time coming, but it finally happened. My A/C is on its last legs.
On Monday, it finally gave out, so I had to break out every fan I own.
I had all our ceiling fans on. I also put a fan in the living room and in the bathroom...
These fans didn't help all that much.
We drove to several stores around town looking for portable air conditioners, but they were either sold-out or online only.
So, my wife Julie asked for help on our neighborhood Facebook page.
And our neighbors came through!
Margaret Parmenter loaned us this portable A/C....
This worked great and kept our bedroom cool enough to sleep comfortably.
Ashley & Brad Bishop loaned us a couple of these portable A/C's that Ashley uses at school...
We called several companies, but nobody could come over for at least a week. What's up with that?!
C'mon, we have kids, animals...and live in Texas! Who can wait a week with no A/C?
Then Matthew Ryan Le Doux, from Blowin' Cold A/C, found out about our situation. He came over, saw what was going on and decided to fix it!
Long story short....despite its problems, Matthew got our A/C working! All we wanted was to get this thing working until we can get it fixed permanently and he did it!
He was the nicest guy ever and just wanted to make sure my family was taken care of. He explained everything he did, educated me on how an A/C works, and was incredibly efficient. THIS is the exact type of customer service we celebrate all the time on our show.
I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who reached out to help us.
I don't know what we would have done without Ashley, Brad, Margaret and Matthew.
And yes...I'll be buying a new A/C unit this week.
