Houston Freeze to Continue into Tuesday

The winter precipitation has moved out of the Houston area. But officials warn we are not out of the woods just yet.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire says the city has dodged a bullet so far on this winter blast.

“The freeze line stayed about fifty miles north of Houston. We were blessed by Mother Nature, blessed by preparation.”

The Mayor added that temperature was still a “major concern.”

There have been minor power outages across the Houston area. You can track then HERE.

Most of those outages are north of the city.

ERCOT grid conditions remain normal. You can track the grid HERE.

Statewide, more than 100,000 are without power as of midday Sunday

If you need to get to the store on Sunday, H-E-B officials say all Houston-area locations, including Central Market, re-opened today and will resine normal store hours tomorrow.

Kroger locations will close at 8pm tonight and resume normal operations tomorrow.
