Here are the Houston-area's top July 4th events

In-person Houston-area July 4th celebrations have returned after two years off for the COVID pandemic.

Shell's Freedom over Texas - Buffalo Bayou, 901 Bagby St.
July 4, 4-10 p.m.
Sawyer Brown, Clay Walker and other entertainers perform ahead of a "Texas-sized" fireworks show. The event will also feature children's activities and a celebration of 60 years of NASA in Houston with highlights that include a virtual reality tour of the International Space Station.

Independence Day Spectacular - City Centre, 800 Town and Country Blvd.
July 4, 7-11 p.m.
The event will include live musical performances and a 10:30 p.m. fireworks show.

POST TX Rooftop Concert - Post Houston, 401 Franklin St.
July 4, 7:30-9 p.m.
The Houston Brass Band will perform on the former Barbara Jordan Post Office building's five-acre Skylawn rooftop where guests can view the fireworks display over Downtown Houston.

Bellaire 4th of July Parade and Festival - Great Lawn and Loftin Park, 7008 S. Rice Ave.
July 4, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
The event will kick off with a 9:30 a.m. parade along South Rice Ave. followed by a festival at Bellaire Town Square with food and live musical performances.

Sugar Land Red White and Boom - Crown Festival Park, 18355 Southwest Freeway
July 4, 6-10 p.m.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for the family event with vendor booths, food, children's activities, and a fireworks show to end the day.

Red, Hot & Blue at Hughes Landing - Hughes Landing Band Shell, 1950 Hughes Landing Blvd.
July 4, 6-10 p.m.
The Woodlands celebration will include live music from the John Barraza Project, family activities and an 18-minute fireworks show.

Pearland Celebration of Freedom - Independence Park, 3449 Pearland Pkwy.
July 4, 6 a.m.–10 p.m.
The celebration will feature live music from Adrian Michael and the Greenway Band, food trucks and a fireworks display.

Kemah Boardwalk Fireworks - 215 Kipp Ave.
July 4, 9:30 p.m.
In addition to the facility's rides and attractions, guests will be treated to a 9:30 p.m. fireworks display over Galveston Bay.

Katy Freedom Celebration - Typhoon Texas Waterpark, 555 Katy-Fort Bend Road
July 4, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
The City of Katy and Typhoon Texas combine to present this celebration at the water park. A 9 p.m. fireworks show can be enjoyed from the park or Katy Mills Mall.

Nassau Bay Independence Day Celebration - David Braun Park, 18900 Upper Bay Road
July 4, Noon–9 p.m.
The celebration will include a city-wide "water war," a parade, and a pie contest. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. over the Nassau Bay Peninsula.

Tomball July 4th Celebration and Street Fest - 28000 Tomball Pkwy.
July 4, 6-10 p.m.
The festival will include live music, food, and a fireworks display.

Pasadena 4th Fest - Pasadena Municipal Fairgrounds, 7902 Fairmont Pkwy.
July 4, 4–10 p.m.
Hosted by Pasadena Parks and Recreation, the celebration will include live music by The Slags and Gray Falls, hayrides, an obstacle course and a rock-climbing wall. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

Baytown 4th of July Celebration - Bicentennial Park, 1001 Market St.
July 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; July 4, 4-9:30 p.m.
The two-day celebration kicks off July 3 with concert performances by The Spazmatics and Vanilla Ice. On the fourth, the "Fireworks Extravaganza" will be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. parade and live performances from The Band Perry and Cody Hibbard.

Jersey Village 4th of July Fireworks and Concert - Clark Henry Park, 7804 Equador St.
July 4, 5:30-10 p.m.
The event will include a community parade, a concert by The Fab 5, food trucks and children's activities. Fireworks begin at 9:30.

League City Fireworks Extravaganza - Chester L. Davis Sportsplex, 1251 League City Parkway
July 3, 4-10 p.m.
This free family-friendly event includes a fireworks display, live-music, inflatables, and food trucks.

Galena Park Fourth of July Festival - 1016 16th Street (Behind the city swimming pool)
July 4, 5-9 p.m.
The festival will include family activities such as carnival rides, face painting, and a zip line. Access to the swimming pool will be free, and fireworks will start at 9 p.m.
