Some Skittles, Starburst and Life Savers gummies recalled

The Mars Wrigley Confectionery has announced a voluntary recall of some varieties of Skittles, Starburst, and Life Savers gummies due to the potential presence of thin metal strands embedded in the candies or loose in the bag. The company says reports from consumers brought the issue to their attention, and they are not aware of any illnesses to date.

Products were reported to have been manufactured by a third party and distributed in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

A 10-digit manufacturing code is on the package backs, and the first three digits in the code will identify the suspect product as shown in the tables.

The manufacturer says it will work with retailers to remove recalled products from store shelves. Consumers who believe they have purchased a recalled item should dispose of it and not consume it. The company says it will answer consumer questions at 1-800-651-2564 or https://www.mars.com/contact-us.
