In fact, Texas had four cities in the top 10.

San Antonio and Dallas came in at sixth and seventh, while Austin finished ninth.

U.S. Census Bureau figures show an estimated 14 to 23 million Americans moved last year, mostly due to new opportunities for remote working.

Penske used their one-way truck rental data to come up with their report.

Other cities in the top 10 were:

2.Las Vegas
3.Phoenix
4.Charlotte
5.Denver
8.Orlando
10.Chicago

Meanwhile, Houston's center of population is gradually shifting to residences outside Loop 610. The movement is said to reflect the need for more spacious homes by families with children.
