A recent poll of 2,000 adults in the United Kingdom found that each owned an average of $268.44 worth of clothing they had never worn.
Sixty-five percent said some unworn items still had tags on them.

About 8 to 10 said they wear the same outfits over and over, while only 6% claimed they wore everything in their closets at least once.
More than half of those polled said they didn't wear certain clothes because they were buried under other clothes, not because they no longer fit or were ugly. And 20% said they kept clothes for sentimental reasons — even if they have never been worn.
The research also showed 31% of 18- to 24-year-olds impulsively bought clothes because they were trendy, only to realize later the stuff wasn’t so great after all.
In the end, 37% agreed that reducing the contents of their closets would lower the stress of getting ready every day.
