The latest trend to emerge is the popularity of the hula hoop workout. According to Bustle, videos with the hashtag #hulahoop have received 925 millions views. Other hula hoop hastgags like #hulahoopfitness and #weightedhulahoop account for hundreds of millions more.

This children's' toy, created in the 1950s, is have a viral fitness moment and giving traditional workout equipment like jump ropes and resistance bands a run for their money. TikTok users and fitness experts say hula hoop workouts have real core-strengthening and cardio endurance benefits, and are a great way to keep workouts fun and fast (as little as 5 minutes per day). Many users are posting videos to document their daily or weekly progress as they build up from barely keeping the hoop spinning to longer and longer sessions Research cited in the Bustle article shows that hula hoop workouts are good for the mind as well, reducing stress, improving moods, and helping people think more clearly the rest of the day.
