Sutherland Springs Shooting Trial Has Begun

Testimony was heard this week in the trial of a lawsuit against the federal government filed by the victims' families of the Sutherland Springs shooting.

The trial started Wednesday in a federal district court in San Antonio. The 2017 massacre left 26 people dead and 22 wounded at the town's First Baptist Church.

The lawsuit claims the U.S. Air Force failed to report the bad-conduct discharge of Devin Kelley to the FBI, allowing him to pass a background check and buy the gun.

Wednesday's first witness was Kelley's wife Danielle, whom he reportedly abused.
