15 Cent Movie Tickets When AMC Theatres Reopen On 8/20

AMC Theatres locations have been closed for months amid coronavirus pandemic concerns. The chain has announced and scrapped a couple different reopening plans. According to The Hollywood Reporter, they're about to reopen with some serious discount ticket prices.

The country's largest theater chain is planning to open around 100 locations on August 20, with tickets for only 15 cents. The company is celebrating the relaunch, but also 100 years since the first AMC theater opened in Kansas City in 1920, with 1920 ticket prices. This promotion will include a number of Houston-area locations. The 15-cent pricing will be for that first day only, but the plan is to continue selling discounted tickets and concessions as they continue to reopen more theaters. AMC locations will screen throwback movie titles like Black Panther, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back at $5.00 per ticket, for screenings on dates other than Aug. 20.
