ABC 13 did a great story on Austin Montalbano, a Texas City Eagle Scout who wanted to do something to help when the COVID-19 outbreak began to affect his community. Austin, a high school junior, sat down at his mother's sewing machine and started producing cloth face masks. In a few weeks, Austin was able to donate hundreds of masks to organizations in need...the local food back, medical and dental clinics, plus friends and family.
He's still hard at work and getting requests from organizations and individuals in need of masks. His current goal is to start producing 100 masks per day.
