Woman Live Streams Blind Dates on IG, Viewers Decide What Happens Next

As coronavirus continues its seemingly relentless march across the world entire cities and even countries are now in lockdown.

It is hoped the strict social distancing measures will slow the spread of Covid-19 and save lives.

As people get used to the new normal of keeping their distance from friends and family, dating seems totally impossible.

However, one romantic hopeful has come up with what she thinks is the perfect solution to finding a partner in lockdown - and she's asking all of her Instagram followers for help.

Urszula Makowska, 25, decided to leave her followers in charge of her dating life in lockdown by letting them swipe on her dating apps and set up her up on a blind (virtual) date.

At the entire experience was filmed for Instagram live, of course.

The Brooklyn-based blogger said that in the past she had an "unhealthy habit of dating the wrong guys and being in a broken repetitive cycle".

So, after her last unsuccessful relationship, she thought what did she have to lose?

She said: "My friends know me best and they have been through each heartache with me.

They know what kind of guy is wrong for me and what kind of guy is right for me."

Urszula has no idea what her date's name is, what they look like, their interests, anything - until they go on their first date in front of a live audience on her Instagram.

When one of her friends finds a potential match they get their permission to go live, and that Sunday, the date takes place - unless one of them doesn't show up...

During the live date one of her friends comments and leaves her date's Instagram handle and they then request to be on her live story.

In the hour that the pair are on their date, Urszula runs through questions the audience have and their tasks for him to complete.

On one of these unusual romantic meet ups her date had to try twerking. And then it's up to her followers to decide if they have another date.

Before logging off Urszula recruits a relationship expert into the live stream to discuss how they thought the date went.

One of Urszula's friends Karolina Kolowska said: "As a dating coach, I look at the psychological compatibility - if the person is extroverted or introverted, seems to be loud or quiet, emotionally available, mentally healthy and focused, outdoorsy or a homebody type.

"I look at their common interests and differences. I check their profession and evaluate their social media profiles to determine whether their life's mission would be considered interesting/attractive by Urszula."

And in terms of her friends' criteria for the date, one pal Lynn Anna Lafreniere said: "In terms of criteria for men, we are always looking into the following questions - What stage of life is he in? Is he a gentleman?

"Does he have integrity? Does he have a positive attitude? Can he teach her new things and is he willing to learn and grow? How does he treat other people?

"We ask the guys questions on dating apps to see if they pass the test to go on a date with her and look closely into their social media."

The experience so far has been positive - Urszula has realized just how much she has limited herself when it comes to dating, and there is already a second date on the cards.

Whilst her matches were hesitant at first to take their first date on Instagram live, they thought it was a lot of fun and was "a creative idea", and an exciting way to meet people during this time as it allows you to feel an emotional reaction or connection.

Blind dating takes away that choice, and with the help of her friends, they're hopefully good choices.

When asked why she decided to give blind dating a go, she said: "Blind dates make you more open to different people, experiences and they make you optimistic.

"You need to be more open and pay closer attention to details and behavioral patterns, not only look at looks."
