Katy Perry opened up to Australian radio show βSmallzyβs Surgeryβ (via DailyMail) and said she practices an βancient remedyβ to curb the effects of βgetting older.β
βIβm kind of into those type of things, like health and healing places and self-betterment places,β the 34-year-old pop star shared. βEspecially as you get older and you have longer hangovers, you realize the cells in my body are dying. I did this thing called Panca Karma, itβs basically Ayurvedic eating and cleansing, you do lots of enemas.β
According to Adore Yoga, Panca Karma is βa full cleansing program that removes all the harmful toxins from the body to create optimum healing conditions β¦ that takes 21 days to complete.β
Perry explained the benefits of the extreme program, saying, βYou definitely feel more energy, it basically like gets all the crap out of you, every pun intended.β
She and fiancΓ© Orlando Bloom prefer βnew age,β holistic treatments to modern medicine.
βThere are ancient ways to heal yourself besides just taking a pill, which is something I always love to investigate,β she said.
Though sheβs passionate about health, the βNever Really Overβ songstress also admitted sheβs all about balance.
βOrlando is very all about that kind of new age of living, for instance, today we are actually on a little bit of a health kick because we ate so many croissants when we were on vacation,β she explained, adding that theyβre βeating fruit and apple cider vinegar and later I may have a vegan meal.β
βProbably tomorrow I will have an In-N-Out burger,β she confessed.
