UPDATE: Alice Cooper Denies He Has 'Death Pact' With Wife

Alice Cooper has clarified that he and wife Sheryl Goddard don't actually have a death pact.

The legendary rocker made headlines over the weekend after an article in British tabloid The Mirror quoted him as saying he and his wife plan "to go together" when one of them dies, because there's "no way of surviving without each other."

The 71-year-old rocker released a statement to USA Today, saying:"We have a LIFE pact. We love life so much.

"What I was meaning was that because we're almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we'd most likely be together at the time," Cooper explained. "But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact."

Alice and Sheryl have been together since she started dancing in his stage shows in 1975. They have three children: Calico, 38, Dashiell, 34, and Sonora, 27.

Cooper, whose real name Vincent Furnier, is 10 years older than Sheryl.

Alice will kick off a summer tour on July 4 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. A co-headlining tour with HALESTORM will run from July 17 to August 13.
