DC Comics Brings Batmobile, 'Flash' Actors + More To Visit Troops In Kuwait

According to Newsarama, DC Comics recently teamed up with the USO for a surprise trip to Kuwait, bringing a very cool Batman/DC experience to the nearly 12,000 military service members stationed in the Middle Eastern country. Planned as part of the company's Batman 80th anniversary celebration, the visit included a real-life Batmobile, comic book creators Jim Lee and Tom King, and actresses from CW's The Flash and Black Lightning shows.

Candice Patton (Iris West Allen on The Flash), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow on The Flash), and Nafessa Williams (Anissa Pierce on Black Lightning) all met with fans, signed autographs, did panel discussions and made visits to service members on the job. Superstar artist (and DC Comics CCO/President) Jim Lee signed comics and taught an art class for service members interested in drawing. Current Batman writer Tom King met with fans and talked about his experience as a former CIA counterterrorism operations officer and his transition to working in comics. They even brought along a Batmobile. Service men and women got the chance to check out and take photos with one of the "Tumbler" Batmobiles from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

The company also announced that they will be shipping out a special Batman-themed USO2GO kit featuring comics, movies, TV shows, games and more to service members all over the globe.
