Ben Affleck is opening up about a major lifelong battle.
In a candid interview alongside his Triple Frontier costar Charlie Hunnam on Monday’sToday, Affleck told Hoda Kotb “being an alcoholic, it’s part of my life, it’s something that I deal with.”
“It doesn’t have to subsume my whole identity and be everything but it is something that you have to work at,” continued Affleck, 46.
“I had a problem and I really want to address it and I take some pride in that,” he added. “It’s about yourself, your life, your family… we encounter these kinds of hurdles and we have to deal with them.”
Affleck completed his most recent rehab stay in October. The actor previously entered rehab in 2001 and, years later, announced he had completed treatment for alcohol addiction in March 2017.
