Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Shares Private Rehab Story: 'I'm Still Struggling'

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has come clean about his secret stint in rehab.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with Us Weekly , the Jersey Shore star shared about entering Headwaters treatment center in West Palm Beach, Florida, for alcohol abuse and depression. He only just recently left the institution after completing one month last Friday (February 10).

“I decided to go to treatment because I wanted to be a better person, a better father for my daughter,” the 33-year-old told the publication in a video interview. “Eventually, all the bad decisions I was making were going to lead me to places that I didn’t want to be. I wanted to be led to the place that I am now – that’s happy, healthy and the best role model for my daughter.”

Ortiz-Magro shares a 10-month old baby girl named Ariana with estranged girlfriend, Jen Harley, whom the reality star has also made headlines for their disputes and fights in public and on social media.

In June 2018, Harley was arrested on charges of domestic battery after she allegedly hit Ortiz-Magro in the face and drug him with a moving vehicle. Despite their tumultuous relationship, the pair seemed to reconcile their romance. The couple announced they were expecting their second child the following November.

“I think it’s a chronic disease. It’s a progressive disease. I’m still struggling,” he added of his dilemma with alcohol abuse. “You stop and you start up again, and it’s worse than when you stopped. You’re just like, ‘Wow, I thought I had this under control,’ but at the end of the day, it has full control over you.”
