Gladys Knight will Sing National Anthem at the Super Bowl

Atlanta native Gladys Knight has been tapped to perform the national anthem at next month's Super Bowl. 

She'll sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" as part of the Super Bowl LIII pregame show at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, February 3.

"I am proud to use my voice to unite and represent our country in my hometown of Atlanta," the Empress of Soul said in a statement. "The NFL recently announced their new social justice platform Inspire Change, and I am honored to be a part of its inaugural year."

The Grammy-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee joins the ranks of top stars who've sung the anthem in the past, including Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Cher, Mariah Carey, Natalie Cole, Aaron Neville, Luther Vandross, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga, Faith Hill and Jennifer Hudson.
