How to Protect Your Dog from Loud Noises this 4th of July

Most dog owners know all too well the trauma that the family pet undergoes when humans are celebrating Independence Day with loud, booming fireworks.

Barking, hiding under beds, whining and destroying property are all ways that dogs might lash out when it comes to the distinct sound and feel of fireworks nearby. 

According to Dana Ellis with the Neartown Animal Clinic in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood, when it comes to dogs and fireworks we coddle our fur babies a bit too much.
