According to The Hollywood Reporter, host Nick Cannon is walking away from America's Got Talent after a falling out with NBC executives over racial jokes featured in his recent Showtime stand up comedy special.
Cannon says that network executives threatened to fire him and were planning to punish him for jokes that they felt disparaged their brand. The comedian gave his side of the story in a lengthy Facebook post earlier today. He says that he refuses to be silenced, censored or treated like a piece of property and cannot see himself returning for the 12th season of America's Got Talent this summer.
