Taco Cabana is rolling out a new menu item, and it's a first for the San Antonio-based Tex-Mex fast casual chain. They're getting into the torta game! The new Mango-Habanero Pulled Pork Torta is available for a limited time and can be ordered a la carte, or as a plate with beans and rice. They're also offering their new smoked pulled pork with mango habanero sauce on a taco and on a Cabana Bowl!
If you're not familiar with the term, a torta is a sandwich in Mexican cuisine. This one is filled with refried beans, Taco Cabana’s chipotle crema and smoked pulled pork with mango-habanero sauce.
According to a write-up at Click2Houston, Rich Stockinger, president and chief executive officer of Taco Cabana’s parent company had the following to say on the new menu items:
“Tortas are a big part of Mexican food culture and we’re looking forward to putting our own TC spin on them with Mango-Habanero Pulled Pork. The new torta, Taco and Cabana Bowl are going to be great additions to our menu and we’re looking forward to our guests getting a chance to try them.”
