Lee Loechler has done something truly awesome for the woman he loves.
Lee & Sthuthi were high school sweethearts and when it finally came time to propose, Lee made sure to include their family & friends and Sthuthi's favorite movie, Sleeping Beauty...
That was so good!
Six months before this proposal, Lee had been working with an illustrator named Kayla Coombs. You can find out more about her HERE.
This was so well done and has gone viral on social media. Some folks are calling it the best proposal ever, while others are sharing how comparably unexciting their own was.
Here's an example:
I had just finished eating pancakes with my girlfriend (which, thankfully, at least, I had made), and she was about to head out to class. When she opened the door to leave, she was like "Oh, there's a package here for you... It's from a jewelry store."
And I was like: "Yeah, that's the engagement ring. Will you marry me?"
I proposed to her with a cardboard box that she had just picked up off the stoop at 8:30am on a Tuesday. She hadn't even seen the ring before she said yes.
Another one:
My husband had me drive him to the shopping area where the jewelry store was located and then instructed me to wait in the car while he 'went to do something'. So I sat in the car, mystified, for 10-15 minutes, until he came back. He got in the car, shoved the ring box at me and said, "Here!"
But this one was pretty cool:
I was present for something similar. A friend of mine wanted to propose to his girlfriend. Her favorite movie is Love Actually and her favorite scene is when the groom's best friend surprises them in the church singing Love is All You Need.
So he rented out a historical single screen theatre and told her they were playing the Wedding Singer, which was the movie they had seen on their first date. He hired a world touring acapella group to sit in the audience and had all of their friends and family sit in the first few rows. The group loved the idea so much that they got a ton of their musician friends in on it too.
They intentionally arrived a little late so the theater was darkly lit. About 20 minutes into the movie, the screen flickered and someone came over the speaker and said they were experiencing technical difficulty.
At that moment, a single person stood up and started in, "Love, love, love." And then another, and another, until everyone was singing. The house lights go up and we all turn around and she's shocked to see everyone she knows there. She's so confused and she looks to her left. Her boyfriend is down on one knee in the aisle of the theatre. It was an amazing day. Not a dry eye in the house.
As for Me? I proposed at Westside Lexus!
Seriously though, Lee's proposal was incredible.
What was your proposal like?
