I'm sure it's staged, but it's still effective.

Volkswagen created a no-texting-while-driving ad to run before the movie previews at a theater in Hong Kong.

The first ten seconds is footage, from the drivers perspective, just driving down the road.

Then, a guy in the back sends a text message to everyone in the theater. As people look down to check their phone, the car crashes.

That would freak me out if I didn't know I was about to see it. But I like how effective it is.
