The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, this Friday, and whether your making BBQ at home or going out, there are so many fun events around the city to go to with your family and friends.

July 4th at CityCentre (Free) - CityCentre in Memorial City will be hosting a concert series to celebrate Independence Day (as well as every other day, the shows are daily) with fireworks and the sounds of classic rock, 90s country, as well many other genres. Show times vary.

Kidpendance Day at the Children's Musuem ($9; free for members)- The Children's Museum of Houston will be having events just for your little ones. Take them to see the indoor parade and the elephant toothpaste patriotic geyser burst as well as the other attractions that are provided. (10 am-6 pm)

Freedom Over Texas 4th of July Celebration ($8 June 2 – midnight July 3 (children 5 and under free) Tickets can be purchased on-line before to the event.
On July 4: tickets will be $10 online and at the gate admission booths)- The Annual event will be held once again in Downtown Houston, this year Jennifer Nettles from the band Sugarland will be performing on the Southwest Airlines Main stage and the Grand fireworks finale will light the sky. (4pm-10pm)

Burgers and Brews Fourth of July Pub Crawl and Fireworks ($60, 21+ only)- For those of you that are of age and want to do something else than staying at home Burgers and Brews will be having a pub crawl on the fourth. With transportation provided by the Houston Wave, stops include BRC Gastropub and the Buffalo Bayou Brewery, and fireworks to end the night off right. (5 pm)

Galveston Island: Bands in the Sands ($12)- This fourth,Jared Waggoner (Texas Country) will be performing on Palm Beach. While you listen you can go down the last river and watch the amazing fireworks display at the end of the night. (6pm-10pm)

Houston Dynamo vs. New York Red Bulls (Tickets start at $24)- For those of you that just can't seem to get enough soccer, the Houston Dynamo will be having a game for their Armed Forces Appreciation Night. There will be fireworks, of course, after the game. (7:30 pm)

Kemah Boardwalk- Start Spangled Sky Show (free)- Twice a week the boardwalk host a firework display, but this Independence Day it will be extra special. Come and enjoy the rides and attractions and celebrate with family and friends. (9pm)

4th Fest in Pasadena(free)- For all of my people out in Pasadena, the Annual 4th Fest will be happening again. This year there is going to be so many things for the family to do, water balloons, Radio Disney, fireworks, BBQ; they have it ALL! Come on out to the Pasadena Convention Center. (4pm-10pm)
