Banana Abandoned In Desk Drawer Brings Woman Anxiety And Social Media Fame

Mhairi-Louise Brennan, of Glasgow, Scotland, working from home amid the COVID-19 shutdown, went viral with tweets worrying about the banana she left behind in her desk drawer. According to Fox News, her tweet expressing her anxiousness thinking of the banana that had been in her desk since a week before lockdown really caught on with Twitter users, with many speculating about what it must look like in its decomposed state. More than 7,000 people all over the world engaged in the banana conversation. The original post was retweeted more than 6,000 times and received 136,000 likes.

Brennan decided she had to get closure. She returned to the office and got video of opening the drawer to reveal the banana. She updated the world on Twitter and shared the video on TikTok.
