Galveston-area fishing businesses report they really felt the oil spill in the Houston Ship Channel for a couple of days right after it happened.  Now, things are pretty normal, according to Dana Gregory, owner of Smitty's Bait Shop.

“We took a total hit for a couple of days there,” Gregory says.   “I mean, weather played a factor.  We had some rain.  Once people heard about it Monday-Tuesday, we got a lot of phone calls, people concerned and not coming down.”

Gregory says things are returning to normal now.

“Unless you're going to Sea Wolf Park,” he says.  “Unless you're going over into the ship channel somewhere where they're still working on stuff, you really wouldn't know anything happened.”

Clean-up crews are still working in the ship channel.
