Sometimes a criminal investigation can be solved by the smallest detail.

A suspected serial rapist is arrested in Cypress, after one of the victims found a business card for an auto repair shop in her home. Investigators followed up on the lead, and the business owner recognized a description of the suspect’s getaway car.

Police took 33-year old Rickey Zepeda into custody, charging him with sexual assault and aggravated robbery. He’s accused of kicking in a Cypress woman’s door on January 7th, tying her up, and raping her while her two small children were in the house.

A similar attack took place two weeks later, and charges are pending.

Officials say both victims positively identified Zepeda as their attacker.
