It was a game that was expected to be a barn burner before the Friday night lights went out.

The matchup between Katy and Seven Lakes, who are both undefeated, was postoned after the lights at Rhodes Stadium shutoff about an hour before kickoff.  Maintenance crews were unable to get the light back on.  Crews said a transformer blew.

A valiant attempt by the students to light the field with the cell phones could not turn back the dark and officials postponed the game until Saturday morning.

Katy and Seven Lakes are tied in the District 19-5A.  Kickoff on Saturday is set for 11AM at Rhodes Stadium.
