Archaeologists in Turkey say they may have come across a piece of the cross on which Christians believe Jesus Christ was crucified.

They've unearthed a stone chest containing a relic that might be part of the cross.  The leader of the team working at the site of a Seventh Century church says artifacts found at the dig site are linked to the crucifixion and the stone chest, he says, is the most important artifact unearthed yet.

The European Union is funding the excavation that's been going on for four years now.
