An upcoming film starring recently passed "Glee" star Cory Monteith is reminding fans of the circumstances surrounding his death.
The cop drama called "McCanick" is set to make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, and producers are releasing images of Monteith in character, as a drug-dealing addict.
The actor died unexpectedly last month from a toxic mix of alcohol and heroin. He had struggled with addiction since he was a teen.
The new photo shows a long-haired Monteith wearing a hoodie and being confronted on the street by a detective.
The role is much darker than the one he was best known for on the Fox comedy "Glee." "McCanick" is one of two films starring Monteith to be screened at next month's festival. He also appears in a dramatic role in the Gia Milani film called "All The Wrong Reasons."
